Just returned from a very productive trip to Iran.
Delivered 2 talks on the arthroscopic treatment of scaphoid non union and the arthroscopic management of thumb CMC joint arthritis. Panel on hand tumors and upper limb trauma; at the 22nd Annual Orthopaedic Congress of Shahid Mohammad Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Teheran.
Taught thumb CMC joint Arthroscopy and vascularized free fibula transfer. Delivered a talk at the Grand Rounds and assisted in out patient clinics with resident teaching.
The highlight of the trip was the signing of a MOU with the Chairman of the Dept. Of Orthopaedic Surgery – Prof. Adel Ebrahimpour and the Vice Chancellor of International Affairs – Prof. Faizi, Dr. Mafi (Advisor to the Vice Chancellor) and Prof. Lahiji (President of the Iranian Society for Hand Surgery).
This is a unique and first ot its kind MOU between the Shahid Mohammad Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and us for exchange of scientific information, training of young hand surgeons & residents, collaborative research and publications etc.
