Fellowship Opportunities, Research and Education

The surgeons and team at The Hand Surgery Clinics are committed to excellence in Patient Care, Education and Research in Hand and Microvascular surgery.

In keeping with our vision and educational mission, we offer fellowships of 3 months to 1 year duration to orthopaedic, or plastic surgeons who wish to gain greater expertise in hand and upper-extremity surgery.

Our goal is to provide comprehensive training in all aspects of the art and science of hand surgery. This includes instilling a fundamental understanding of the physiology, bio-mechanics, examination, diagnosis, planning, non-operative management, and surgical management that allow hand function and form to be optimally repaired and reconstructed. We wish our fellows to be leaders and competent hand surgeons; who will constantly strive to continue to grow, as lifelong learners. Our vision is that our fellows will improve healthcare delivery, thereby improving patients’ lives, and also advance hand surgery through research, and by training the next generation of hand surgeons.

We believe that we are successful only if our pupils ultimately become far better than their teachers. It is only in this way that each generation can further advance the discipline of hand surgery.
